Counselling provides a regular space for you to talk confidentially with a professionally trained counsellor about the difficult issues that you find yourself faced with. Sometimes we are aware of how the changes in our lives have impacted us and have an appreciation of why life may feel difficult – a bereavement, the breakdown of a relationship, financial difficulties, work issues, redundancy to name but a few. Sometimes however we may feel low, anxious or depressed but be unsure of the reasons for the change in ourselves or our ability to cope – this is perfectly ok.
By talking confidentially to someone who is not part of your family circle or friendship group can offer fresh perspective and reflection on your situation. I am not there to judge or advise you but to offer an empathetic ear that seeks to understand what it is like to walk in your shoes and provide a setting that allows you to explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours. This can lead to new insight and self awareness and in turn can often lead to much wanted change in you, your relationships and your ability to cope with life and to begin living it again.
